It all started in 1987 when Lex Geerdes and his wife Wil Groenweld from the Netherlands moved to Atlanta, USA. He was invited to join the local Round Table, heavily Dutch at the time. Wil found out that there was a companion group Ladies Circle, and recruited several other RT spouses to try and form a Circle. LC-1 Atlanta was chartered in 1991 with Wil Groenweld as the chartering President and LC-Norway as the Godmother country. .
